Disclaimer — What We Sell and What We Don't | Cinnabar Ink

  1. The boundary of the service

Cinnabar Ink sells digital design files and the accompanying story cards. We are not a tattoo studio. We do not needle, we do not supply anaesthetic, and we do not recommend or book artists.

  2. The risks of needling

Tattooing punctures skin and carries inherent risks: infection, allergy, scarring, pigment retention, and design displacement. Choosing a licensed artist, using proper consumables and following aftercare is your responsibility as a party to that relationship. We are not liable for the outcome of tattooing.

  3. Scope of meaning verification

Character choice and interpretation are verified by native Mandarin speakers against standard Mandarin usage. Dialect usage, archaic meanings and special contexts fall outside the default scope; where you need those, use the custom route and we confirm them in writing at that stage, and the note goes into your story card.

  4. Character errors

If the hanzi in a delivered file are wrong glyphed, misspelled, or carry an interpretation that does not match the design, we refund in full and remake free, and we answer within 24 hours of your report. This is the only outcome guarantee we make beyond the technical checks. Deadlines and procedure are on the Refund Policy page.

  5. Design and culture

A design is an artistic adaptation, not a reproduction of an artifact. Story cards separate official history, literary notes and folk practice; a folk record does not necessarily describe practice today. Some subjects — punishment marks, scarification, death and sacrifice imagery — carry heavy historical context. Read the story before you ink it.

  6. Third parties

We warrant nothing about the behaviour or content of third-party sites — tattoo shops, payment providers, cloud services.

In case of any discrepancy, the English version prevails.
